Auditor Roles in Government Performance Measurement – New Service Model
Training Introduction
Background
In today's public sector landscape, governments are
under increasing pressure to deliver more effective, transparent and
accountable services. This shift has led to the evolution of a New Service
Model — one that emphasizes citizen outcomes, data-driven decision-making and continuous performance improvement.
Auditors, traditionally focused on compliance and
financial stewardship, are now expected to play a pivotal role in evaluating
and enhancing government performance. This requires a shift in mindset, skills,
and tools — from static audits of expenditures to dynamic assessments of
results and impacts.
Purpose of the Training
This training equips auditors with the knowledge
and tools necessary to effectively engage with performance measurement systems
within government institutions operating under the New Service Model.
The course bridges the gap between traditional audit functions and the expanded
role of performance assurance, enabling auditors to support improved service
delivery and public value creation.
